Java bites.

COBOL bites.  Java's just getting a bit too fat for its britches.

Azureus is a good client.  I can watch the console window for hours.

Java reminds me more of Ada than COBOL.

That's because you can't expect to run other processes with a Java process getting obese with CPU power and RAM.

Actually, I generally run whatever I like.  If it bothers me, I can knock the runtime environment's thread priority down a notch.  Haven't had to do that for a long time, though.  I find the long start-up time caused by the safepeer plugin to be infinitely more annoying.

Though I admit that I probably wouldn't try to play Bloodlines with Azureus in the background, I've played Temple of Elemental Evil without any noticeable slowdown.  The only freezing that takes place is when NAV checks out a completed download.

Don't change these.
