Need to compress/edit 2 badly joined MPEGS

I have two badly joined MPEGS JAV files that only Media PLayer classic can really read. But are slightly less than 2 hours long but most progs see them as either 29 minutes or 13 minutes or something like that. What I am trying to file is a program that will allow me to fix the files so that other progs can play/convert them.

What I really want to do is convert the files to REAL MEDIA so that I can burn them to CD-ROM

I really have no freaking idea how to solve his... but maybe TMPEG can fix it? I've used it before to cut + join mpeg files, rip from dvds, etc, so I think it might do this.

As >>2 said TMPEG, but first demux (split) the file with it into separate audio and video streams, and then mux them into a new file. See if it works with other players now. If it does, cut the file to your liking, again with TMPEG.

Do not re-encode, as it is cardinal sin, and re-encoding to RM is a double cardinal sin and shall bring prolonged and painful death upon you.
