The Perfect Computuer?

I have a question; maybe you guys can take out alot of the guess work for me.

If you had it your way; how would you build the perfect computer? I'm talking about chipsets and all that shit. Cos, like, I want to build a computer using of this huge tower I've got (gateway 2000, old as fuck)...but I don't know what I want besides a video card that's over 500MD.

I guess what I'm really looking for are mother board suggestions for starters....

Just get the most out of your money as long as you can run/play/do whatever you want running/playing/doing for 2 years, then upgrade again. You'll save loads of money and neurons.
