Video Compression Software

okay, so, my computer is a piece of shit. a junk machine running at 700 megahertz and AMD has been substantial to me all these years regardless of how outdated it gets.

I recently downloaded a couple dvd-quality episodes of Aqua Teen Hunger Force but i cant seem to run the video at full speed. The audio plays fine, as usual, the the framerate drops so far behind its unwatchable.

Is there any software you can recommend that could help me compress the video size so that i can run it smoothly on my computer? It doesn't really matter if it messes up the quality a bit, im going to delete them after i watch them anyways, since im trying to watch whatever episodes i missed on adult swim.

Better idea: use mplayer. It has some switches that made it possible even for a shitty k6-2 to play mpeg4.

Don't change these.
