Seagate HD

I have a 200GB Seagate HD. It's been working fine for serveral months now, but a while ago it did corrupt and I had to reformat. That was a pain, but it has been working for again for a month or two.

Just today something strange happened. I boot up, the drive is detected. Next there is the Seagate Ontrack thing that loads. The problem is this time it stalls there. Normally it takes a few seconds to get past that screen. What is it?

I just let it sit there for about 15 minutes and it finally gets to loading Windows... That takes a while too... Files seem to be intact. Is my drive dying?

Other info: The drive is set to secondary slave. The secondary master is a PX716 which i flashed two days ago. When I did the flash the slave wasn't connected. The bios reads the drive as 137GB, but windows can see more.

Yes, your drive is dying. Backup and request RMA today.

Spinrite may help, but the symptoms sound more like those of a drive with a dying logic board than surface damage. Spinrite can't help you there.
