That happened to me. I used Knoppix to send my files across the network and then I formatted. And then I installed Linux. Haven't had any filesystem fubars since :)

Yes, but for some reason, I think it'd end up being a console script that displays various h pics with xv, and accepting commands like
k 1
which menas "kiss girl number one".

i used the seagate diagnostic tools to check my drive, cuz it sometime bsod 0xF4 out of nowhere, usually when i play warcraft3 (my hdd is active when its bsod'ing) so i guess i have some prob with my drive and the seagate tools says my filesystem hav error and needs to be repaired.

Sounds bad, if repeated attempts to fix it have failed. Try booting from your Windows CD and go into the recovery console, and run chkdsk from there (chkdsk /v /r - and prepare for a long wait). If that fails, try a dedicated disk repair program like Spinrite or Norton Utilities (I particularly like Spinrite). If that fails, you might get lucky if you back up and wipe the drive (low level format in Seagate tools), but it could be symptomatic of a failing component on the drive, so be prepared to replace it.
