BT Ports blocked/capped?

Name: Anonymous 2005-05-24 20:06

I think my ISP is blocking or limiting the download speed on 6881-6689 ports. I as downloading at full speed last week and now its at 100 BITS /sec not KB/s, just b/s ;__;

I tried to use a different port like 2424, but its not downloading at all now, just uploading. Whats a good alt. port to use??

I doubt they'd block it protocol-wise. Try BitComet in any high port (like 56892, a random number, not a nice sounding number).

My ISP actually completely blocks 6969, so you need to use an HTTP proxy to talk to the trackers that use that port.  I'm not sure they do traffic shaping, but they did recently bump everyone down from 768kbps upstream to 256 and will only give it back if you pay 30$ more per month.

D'oh.  Hitting reply twice without checking it posted == stupid.

Don't change these.
