Where are the sounds?

Hi, I'm using Windows XP Pro, and I'm wondering where the startup and shutdown/logoff sounds are stored, so that I may change them. Thanks.

if your asking how you can change the sound from the default yo a sound of your choosing you do that in the control panel > sounds,speech and audio devices > change sound scheme (at least in XP home which shouldn't be too much difference).  if you actually want to edit the sounds see >2.
