SATA driver needed!

Name: BlackSkarab 2005-05-09 16:56

Hey there.
Just bought a Seagate SATA harddrive for my computer. I currently have an IDE drive but want to make a fresh XP install on the new drive.
Thing is the Windows XP instalation disk doesn't recognise the drive. Where can I obtain the driver for the SATA drive?
I have a SIS 655fx chipset on a GA-8s655FX motherboard.
I can't seem to find any drivers on the CD that i got with it, i assume they're there but i'm not sure which ones i need to copy over to a floppy for it to use during installation.
any/all help is appreciated.

They're there - my system runs off of Seagata SATA drives.  When installing Windows XP, there's a point where you can hit F6 to load RAID drivers or somesuch.  That's what you want to do.

Oh good.  Now that you mention it, they DO have to be put on a floppy, for any future readers of this thread... its been a while since I had to mess with it, heh.
