Flash MP3 player being a cunt

some files were corrupted, and now it refuses to use the last 23-ish megabytes of space (and no, I'm not confusing actual megabytes with "decimal megabytes", the space is actually shown as being free by Windows and the player's OS). I've tried formatting it in every possible way, it doesn't seem to help. So is it buggered?

When manufacturers say NAND flash RAM is now good for 1,000,000 writes, that's still a statisical figure. Don't be surprised when it packs in after a few hundred or so.
