Win 2k & Starship Titanic.

I know I'll probably get a lot of "upgrade that fossil" cracks so I want to say in advance that I don't want to hear it.

I'm running Win 2k with SP4 and I'm trying to get a Win 95 game (Starship Titanic to be more specific) running.

I've heard that Win 2k + SP4 has an option that allows you to set a compatibilty mode but I don't know how to access it.

I would appreciate any advice anyone can give on the subject.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know about 2k in specific, but when righ clicking and selecting properties on an .exe there should be a tab labled compatibility.

That tab never did shit for me.

Well it worked for me but to activate it I had to enter
"regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll"
on the command line prompt.(where %systemroot% is where the windows files are. i.e. winNT in my case)

Funny, I've used it to great effect in Server2k3. Especially when it comes to installing applications that are XP compatible but can't seem to grasp the fact that Server2k3 is essentialy the same as XP.

Interesting.

Seriously, if you want to run a game from w95 era, get a cheap used box and install 98SE in it. You're better off in the long run.

Agreed, that's what I'd do if I knew anyone who still had a copy of 98. My life has never been the same since I moved to 2k (and thence to XP) and lost the ability to play Battlezone.

Don't change these.
