private files

hey, i was wondering...this is the story.
i made a password for my account, and it then asked me if i would like to make my files private..i thought, hmm sure, why not. so i did. now nothing will load correctly, a game that needs to connect to the internet, bittorents wont download, and etc...does anyone know how to fix this?
