HELP I can't play video files

Name: Tenchi 2005-03-18 18:58

I need help! Every time I try to play a video file, ANY videofile using ANY player, Windows Media Player, Multimedia Xplorer, IrfanView, anything, I get a C++ Runtime error! How can I fix it without having to reinstall Windows.

I already tried removing all of my codecs and reinsalling windows media player.

Try the following:

1. Remove all your video codecs and media players.
2. Run an antivirus with updated patterns. Panda is a good one, and AVG is free.
3. Reinstall your video drivers.
4. Get Media Player Classic, don't bother with other players. Media Player Classic's internal splitters and codecs.

If you're up for more fun, and want to find out what's really happening, try www.sysinternals.com File Monitor, API Monitor, or something to see what DLL file is causing the problem after being loaded.

Don't change these.
