Any particular reason you don't want an Athlon64?

Intel has more giggle-hurts.
lolz

i agree with 2 seems to me you're going to use it for gaming, and at the moment amd is king. Though intel is still better for other tasks.

Please explain/detail

I favorize Intel more than amd and that i think this is pretty  good for a computer and dont need anything more out of it.

Athlon64 doesn't live up to it's full potential because the OS doesn't support 64 bits etc

Sure if you use Win32.

MMX, 3DNow!, SSE, SSE2, etc. didn't either

Now they're supported in drivers, games, and professional applications.

Same will happen to Athlon64. AMD's 64 bit architecture is, albeit 10 years late, the future for PCs. Intel lost because it came 9 years late with something that's not even hardware compatible so it's just a new server processor, not anything we can start replacing PCs with.

What more do you need out of AMD than Intel?

>>7

That's true.  Which is what makes the Athlon64 so impressive, its already very fast in 32-bit mode.  A 64-bit version of Windows is around the corner, so I'l sure we'll see even better results out of the same chips soon.

You can aquire 64-bit Windows quite easily through certain illegitimate channels.

Haha, nice one Christy. The guy wanted windows though.

Oh but if it's legitimate then it's not fun... They should make a commercial version of Linux so I can pirate it.

LOL SCO IS IN UR BASE, COPYRIGHTING UR OPENSOURCE SOFTWARES

>>16
Yeah like >>17 said, if you want to pirate Linux just claim you own it and start billing everyone for licenses.

Name: h4cl 2005-03-22 6:54

If you can't do that, then steal some opensource code like, PearPC and call it your own! We've seen that one bring lots of publicity.
