Bogged down system

Hey everyone,
Im having a small problem right now...My computer resources are being chewed up by somthing and im not totaly shure what it is. When I go to shut down it locks up and tell me "SymLCHWL_8DC277CA-1E3F-458e-0543D711FF87 is holding up the shut down and needs to be either closed ignored or cancel the shutdown" Any help?

Download, update patterns, and run Ad-aware and Spybot

did adaware+spybot already, no good......Used trendco virusscan + norton also

Check the process list (Control+Shift+Esc, Process tab) to see if you have some crap (systemtraycrap, background services, etc.) you don't need.
