Need help

I have this computer I'm working on that is driving me crazy. It can ping and tracert fine, but IE, OE, Firefox, nothing else can get online. The owner of the computer says that AOL dial-up works fine though. I wouuln't know as I dont have any way of dialing out here. Also, loading the computer in safe mode with networking, it runs fine. IE gets online with no problems. So it has to be something that is starting when the computer starts, but I've run adaware and everything is clean. I've turned off all 3rd party services, and disabled all 3rd party startup applications. Any idea where I should be looking next?

Yeah, I've already posted to a couple of groups. I'll see if I can turn anything up. I have my suspicions that AOL is the cause of all this, but the problem persists even after uninstalling it.
