I'm trying to split a .avi file that has a subtitle track using Virtualdub Mod. Instead of actaull spliting the file in two, I create two smaller files. Anyway, when I try and view the smaller files, the option for the subtitle track does not appear. I tried saving files in .ogm and .mkv format, but still no subtitle track. What should I do?

Are you sure the file was not encoded with the subtitle overlaying the original video? :\

no clue. Anyway, someone else on another forum suggested i use a video splitting program such as All Video Splitter. Problem is, the program freezes when i try loading the file (In this case, the Studio 4C movie "Mindgame"). Is thier anything additional that I need to do in order for this program to work.

I would suspect that VDubMod cannot correctly split subtitle streams and leave it/them on the output video. You'll need to de-mux the subtitle file from the original video, leaving you with a .SRT subtitle file. Download and install Subtitle Workshop and open the the subtitle file, then create two sets of subtitles - one with all the subs up to the split point, and another with all the subs after the split point. You will need to adjust the timing of the second set of subtitles, subtracting whatever the length of the first video is from all the times (so they are timed relative to the start of the second video) - the timing menu has controls to do all this. Then add the subtitle streams into the appropriate video files and save as OGM or MKV.
