A quick question.

How do you halt programs from booting up at startup? Like MSN Messenger for example. I remember it's a command through Run, but I forgot the command.

You can get a program from Sysinternals.com which will allow you to browse the various startup programs and change or delete them.

How do I told a /dev device size in Unix? stat won't tell me. How do I? I hope there's some decent command-line utility to tell. I don't want to have to issue dirty, obscure, shittily documented ioctls. I think there was one for that - something like BLKSIZE, which gave the device size in who knows what block size for most devices, but I expect to have a tool that tries that and converts that to bytes decently without having to write one myself. Any ideas?
