ok, thanks

one more question please, what about AGP and PCI Express?

is it worth changing to pci express?

Name: Anonymous 2005-01-21 10:35

probably not

At this point it actually may be worthwhile to upgrade to PCIExpress as the market is massively shifting towards using it. You will not see any gains from using it, but you will be compatible with later graphics cards.

how is pci express better than agp

It's faster, and you can upload from the card just as fast as you can send to it (which isn't really useful for gaming, but sure is for video editing).

Well, it's not about being just as fast upstream as it is downstream, it's about it having the ability to send upstream and downstream simultaneously.

so if im going to use it for gaming only pci express is a scam rite

Not really. It's the future. But a future you probably don't need to worry about for now.

It is also good to note that if you go to pci express, depending on your current system, you will have to upgrade your motherboard,  and possibly your ram, power supply, and processor. Motherboard because almost no current board supports both agp and pci express, cpu depending on if you use an Intel or AMD platform amd what socket type you have now, a power supply for some of the newer Intel or AMD boards, they switched to 24 pin atx and not the older 20 pin standard, and ram if the new board requires DDRII and not the current DDR that almost everyone else uses. If you want a lower cost upgrade, pci express is not the way to go at this time.

>>3 "is it worth changing to pci express?"

Not at all, not even in 3 years

Name: Anonymous 2005-02-17 7:14

but by then there will be no agp boards left, so it's a moot point

xbox360 would be a really awesome console if it didnt have so many fuckin shitty faulty errors. my friend had to send his xbox 3 times already to fix it. so for now xbox360 is a heap of shit.

Well I had to remove darkside514 avatar due to size issues so I am making an new rule.

All avatars should not be larger than my avatar.

If you want to see the size of my avatar save my avatar and see the size of it.
