FSB issues... n00b question.

I'm a first time pc builder (mac user actually, but when i saw half life 2... decided to go double agent) but have a question about front side bus. does it have to be the same as the processor bus? can it be greater? can it be smaller? will an amd athlon 64 3400+(http//www.price/... work with a mother board that has an 800 mhz fsb? thank you guys so much, i hope you can humour me.

There is no FSB.

It will work on any socket 754 motherboard.
BTW,Athlon 64 CPUs and motherboards don't have FSB since the memory controller is on the CPU.

Don't forget to match your RAM too otherwise you'll just bottleneck.

all that is important is that you put the RAM with the fastest speed in the first slot.
