The explosion at 0:55 in the WB PV is fucking great. For a second I thought it was Anno, what with those perfect spheres.

KlK 6 has solid art/animation again, nothing mindblowing but Sushio and Amemiya are listed. My guess is Sushio did the final fight or the flashback (final fight was better though), and Amemiya obviously did the henshin. The henshin was lame and choppy, like everything Amemiya does.

Nice dancing sakuga in Kyouka no Kanata #6. Your move, Yamakan.

So was this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppUE0JKLhEc&t=1m59s
and the part where the loli with angels starts dancing. Actually, this whole sequence was animation gold if you ignore those ugly Dezaki-style stills.

Is the dancing rotoscoped?

If it's rotoscoped, KyoAni must be really good at rotoscoping.

I don't think it's rotoscoped, but
they drew exactly from the video footage.

"How we used to live.
Every club in town played the C64 Robocop 3 theme by Jeroen Tel.
Cute girls had poofy hair. Dudes wore Megadeth t-shirts (I wasn't going to animate a Megadeth t-shirt over 107 frames, sadly!)."

I love you Otaking

Ernest and Celestine was very nice. I like it that even in the west the Disney school of animation is dying.

I like it that even in the west the Disney school of animation is dying.

Because the west produce still many hand-drawn movies and series? And Ernest and Celestine is from France.

What a dumb post, so mad.

Yes, I know it's from France. And don't worry, the feeling is mutual.

Did I misunderstand or did they say the film was delayed because Takahata was too slow with the storyboards? XD

I stand by my argument that this is badly-animated. The poses are held for too long, no exception, it's not snappy or dynamic at all and uncreative layout-wise. The part where he snaps into the final pose is especially choppy, and doesn't work at all. It just feels like it's missing drawings instead of being interesting to watch.

I feel the same way about almost everything Amemiya does, that I've seen.

Sakuga shot of the year
Shingeki no kyojin akira shot

Why ? to me combined with the timing , the excellent drawing , the special effect and the mastering of the giant animation.
Also the music was perfectly done and fits very well

A little movie on itself

Also this long shot

I think it's supposed to look like that because he struggles to rip apart and get free from that glowing yellow fiber net. I agree with you that it looks odd at the end right before the red captions and during them. The effects are really weird.

Name: Anonymous 2013-11-08 5:03

Sakuga shot of the year will probably be Ohira's scene in Kaze Tachinu or something from Kaguyahime.

Finally. Ishihara on storyboard pays off. I'd take it that he's responsible for that stuff.

KyoAni idol anime when?

It's not badly animated, no.

It uses timing you do not like? Yes.

I don't like the character designs but this looks great.

Mihara? I wonder if he is doing his own episode or if he is only working on Yuasa's.
