Red Data Girl Ep. 1

作画監督：Shiba Minako and Itou Ioriko (by the way, are 伊藤依織子 and 伊藤依頼子 the same person?)

Not going to bother with animators (sorry) because the video quality is piss poor (struggled for a couple of minutes to figure out which Itou is the AD) and no cuts really stood out animation wise, although the animation is on average good (the opening scene in the bath, and in the sports gym were above the rest I think).

After some complaints that I read here prior to delving into the episode, I had pretty low expectations (I too was never much of a P.A. works fan). But this episode was pretty nice. Shinohara did a nice job with the storyboards and the layouts are generally very good (some interesting angles when there's little animation, and a lot of variation that removes any sense of visual "boredom" or whatever)

2nd and 5th shots might look weird here, but they make sense in context (with the dialogue) and they're panned over in 2 layers so in the episode it looks better visually as well.

And really, the art direction was very pleasing and the episode was well produced all through. If they keep this level of quality for the whole series I will be pleased.
