I'm not a fat shamer. At least, I hope I'm not, but maybe this opinion makes me one. Who knows.

But.

God DAMN are there a lot of large Jane cosplayers. I get it, I suppose; she's a baker so naturally she should be overweight, but fuck if it isn't an overwhelming majority of pictures out of Otakon that show scores upon scores of Jane cosplayers being chubbier than the average Homestuck (which is saying something, especially with the prevalance of fatFeferi and fatAradia).

Is there a point to this? No. Do I want fat people to stop cosplaying? I hope not. Maybe I do. *shrug*

I think the simple answer op is that there are just a lot of fat homestuck fans.

If you want to get even simpler, down to the most basic reality: Wealthy nations like America statistically tend to have employed citizens who can afford to feed themselves to the point of obesity. That's why you see so many of them. It's hard to get heavy when you are starving and are forced to live off of 160 dollars a month on food stamps.
