ok I am creating a comic and am done writing the storyline and plot outline. the problem is that i dont know how i could get it published. should I try to sell my story or find someone to illustrate it for me

Depends. Do you want to publish it independently (more freedom, less income), or publish it with a name (DC, Marvel, Vertigo, Dark Horse, etc)?

I've self-published (photocopy zines=love) shit so I could help you with that, but otherwise...

FYI, its not a comic untill its actually drawn.

You've got a story. You need to pitch it to an artist/company.

Odds are they'll refuse. Find a friend who can draw or learn yourself.

start small, man. unless you have a professional artist studio and a superb, never-before-seen comic concept that deconstructs the very way humans live their lives, you'd be better off using the photocopying machine and selling them for change at your local comic-con (or comicbook store, if they'll allow it).

alternatively, start out as a webcomic to test the readership waters. if you gain a large enough following, publishers will come by themselves with little provocation.
