What could this superpower really do?

Name: Anonymous 2008-12-19 20:21

The ability to alter the value of pi (3.14159...) within a short radius around yourself.

I think I remember hearing something involving becoming invisible.

The thing is, considering the number of things in physics that involve the value of pi, this could be a power that has an incredible number of uses. Or it could be something that causes the superperson to be deleted from existance the first time they use the power.

Considering the number of things that could go wrong when using this power, the user would have to be some kind of physics expert.

Normally I'd go to /sci/ with this question, but I don't think that they'd be very interested in this.

by altering pi nothing would happen as stated above the physical laws of the world do not depend on physical constant it is infact the other way around. the superpower that many people are describing is the power to warp the physical ratio between a circles radius and circumfrence not just its definition, hell if I know what that would look like but it would have serious effects on quantum physics

 for instance the first thing that comes to mind is heisenbergs uncerantie principal. by increasing pi you could then be arbitrarily certain of both a particles position and velocity making it theoretically possible to develop a super computer that can predict the future. or conversly by decreasing pi could potentially teleport

or even messing with debroglie wave lengths increasing and decreasing potential energy within a mass or even increasing the momentum of light (and inturn its velocity) and because highschool kinetics are derivations of kinetic/potential energy
and einstiens energy models include the ratio between velocity and the speed of light to describe those equations
ex
ke=1-[1/sqrt(1-v^2/c^2)]mc^2)

then all of your kinetic models can be altered to suit your needs

 also in electromagnetism the force between 2 particles depends on a constant 1/4pi{epsilon naught) so the force of attraction between particles could be increased/decreased magneto style

tl/dr

magneto/jean/dr x/superman ect all rolled into one

think dr. manhatton
