American Copyright laws sucks.

American Copyright laws sucks (discuss).

It sucks cuz they want their laws beign obeyed overseas but with no reciprocity from their side.

One should be able to modify on any way, any intellectual work of anyone if you don't like a part of it or you feel like you might have done something better with it or if you had the same idea but didn't count with economic resources to make it for real without mattering if you are in France or Australia.
Disney has many intellectual properties that are beign wasted and that many people feel like they might be able to give them a whole new life. So is the case of Gargoyles, but Disney don't want to sale the rights to others so they could continue with the only good think Disney has made.

Maybe one day Disney will have a television channel dedicated to animation, and then produce new series based off of old licenses but with an adult twist.  Hopefully it won't be full of shitty live action shows and movies either.

*Flips through channels*

Fuck, nevermind.

But also remember that there are other companies whose greed don't leave others to change things that they have modified even if the original product is not even from their own, like 4kids and DIC that when they buy something like anime, they totally change it and resell it to other countries imposing their own criteria on how should be handled like they have made with YU GI OH or Pokemon or Sailor Moon and many others.
Did you know that in Mexico they had to use the American names of the Scouts just because DIC had the rights over the series?.
I mean. where's the right of the others to use the versions they  think are the best to their audiences?. Why should everyone else deprive themselves to know or hear the original source?.

It's fucked up.

I'm just surprised Hanna-Barbera was the one to revitalize the cartoon market.  What kind of alternate reality am I living in?

I don't get exactly what the OP is trying to say, but I am pretty sure it has to do with the hentai doujin market. I guess he wants x-men pr0n selling in bookstores or something.

Well, American laws have to be followed by American citizens, even when not in America. Thatt's one of the prices of being under American protection.

American copyrights are also under U.S. government protection. Other governments are responsible for protecting their artisans from thieves, as well. That is not our countries job.

Well, gargoyls isn't the ONLY good thing that Disney has done...But it is exeptional.  If anyone want's to get Disney to make more episodes, why don't all of the fans just flood their offices with mail demanding it?

This is the old-fashioned way, but Disney is an old-fashioned company.

I concur. I've heard from folks that work in the parks that the suits treat every HANDWRITTEN letter, the more professional looking the better, a lot more seriously than the typical "10 emails = 1 snailmail."
so if anyone wants a Disney toon back, set a date (or a whole week even) to deluge them with a coordinated letter-writing campaign.

Coordinate it, and let there be gargoyles!!!

Seriously, do it damnit, Goliath and Elissa really could have an amazing relationship (albeit it would need magical help, were-gargoyles anyone???)

Don't change these.
