Mature Readers

I have always appreciates the Vertigo line for being for "Mature Readers."  There is a difference between 18+ adult only comics, but Mature Readers generally means 18 or over anyway.  Sort of like an R rating.  While there are some comic companies that use this designation, there aren't enough.  One thing I don't see at all is manga for mature readers.  A lot of manga will simply be consored, edited, or have something removed just to fit an all purpose rating.  The strange thing is that a comic for Mature Readers can have nudity and sex, and isn't a purely adult comic unless it has nothing but sex and nudity.  This is the same attitude with manga in Japan, as a teen comic can show nudity in one page but not be pornographic like adult manga.  Manga has already reached this level of responsible vulgarity, violence, and nudity for its audience, but somehow US localization isn't ready for it.
