Has anyone else noticed the odd differences between CN and Nick's S&Ps? Between them, Nick is more lax towards violence and slight language than CN. This is somewhat odd, considering that Nick caters to a slightly younger crowd than CN.
For Example:
On certain Nick shows (Hey Arnold, I think) they allow use of the word Crap. I don't believe they have ever used that word on a Cartoon Network original.
References to death or killing (Avatar has 'em) are ok on Nick, but not on CN, not even during Toonami (Remember how they chopped up Evangelion?).
Overall Toilet humor. Nick's got alot, CN not so much (Whether or not this is due to S&P is unknown).
Anything else I missed?

It must be a recent phenomenon, I haven't noticed it on nick previously.  Then again, I don't watch Nick.  I'm guessing they want to compete with CN directly since everyone watches it instead.

But isn't the nature of Nick is suppose to be like wild and gross? Look at the stuff they do like monsters (forgot the full name) and ask arnold.

Actually it's about pedophilia.  At least for me it is.  Mmm... Amanda.

Other than the obvious Adult Swim you're right.

But crap has been on Nick since I was a kitten. I remember hearing it on Ren And Stimpy. (And probably a lot worse)

I think the big difference is that Nick Toons -are- geared at kids a little bit younger, usually young enough to be seen nonpeople and most of the time they're watching TV they're doing it with an older relative. I didn't know about all the dirty jokes in Peewee herman when I was a kid. They were slid right under the radar. You can't really do that with older kids. Plus, by the time you get to 9-12 the television is basically the only moral model you have. ^_^

it's because of ren and stimpy that the standard on nick got lifted a little bit; at the time, that show was really out-there stuff. when the local stations around here aired reruns (this still wasn't long after R&S got big), they aired a "viewer discretion advised" in front of it.

Don't change these.
