Yeah, Transmet is for serious one of the best comics I've read in a long long time.

Transmet is one of the best things to happen to comics. Pity there's not much else like it.

anything out there like Transmetropolitan? I've never been into comics, but I downloaded this after seeing spider all over /b/. I want more now!
About the only thing I can suggest is you read Hunter S. Thompson's work, as Spider is hugely based on him. There's not much else like Transmet, sadly :(

So, do you guys think we will become a Transmetropolitan world? Will the average persons lack of interest in politics lead to a crisis like the smiler running the place? Is Transmetropolitan trying to be the next Brave New World or 1984?

I think transmetropolitan is one of the most fucking awesome things ever.
Now go read V for Vendetta and The Invisibles.

I think most people who would enjoy Transmet would also enjoy The Sandman.

Yeah, Transmetro's political situation is basically a parody of the modern political scene. I can only hope that a genetically modified brain-drugged future would have political problems thousands of times more horrifying and beautiful than our current shit.
