Some batman questions

I rented batman and returns tonight. The last time I saw them I was around 7 or 10. So I really didnt understand what was going on. All I knew was It was batman.

Anyway I never read any of the comics(or DC comics for that matter) and I started to wonder if they changed things for the movies(like they normally do)

1.Did the Joker really kill wayne's parents? I'm assuming this is a no because of the ages between the two.

2.Did joker ever die in the comics? once again I'm assuming no,but also yes at the same time(the whole side universes and such)

3.Was Penguin A pedo? Or was he a pervert?

the joker did NOT kill bruce's parents.
the joker is still alive and kicking in the comics.
the penguin is not a pedo.

long story short, the movies suck balls.  go read the comics instead.

@1. No, cause Batman was responsible for the Joker's "birth" years  later. But I think there was a story in Elseworlds (alternative DC-Universe(s) where he killed them.
2. In the DC universe, no one stays dead for a long time, but even if he died, Batman never killed him (cause he never kills anyone).
3. No, but sometimes he appears to be slightly perverted anway.

I gotta add some things to #1 of my answers.
The dude who later becomes the joker was a nice, but unlucky stand-up-comedian before he became the twisted villain later known as the Joker.
Bruce's parents were killed by some random small fry

Read a graphic novel called "The Killing Joke."  This is the only known full explanation of the Joker becoming the Joker.  And I don't know, get a subscription to the regular issues or something.
