Just wondering if anyone else likes this Adult Swim show. I think it's one of the funniest things on TV right now. Something about this twisted take on Johnny Quest toons and a number of comic books is just hilarious each week. They throw in so many little gags and lines, I keep catching new ones that crack me up. Really sharp writing. Plus with characters like Brock or, my favorite, Dr. Orpheus, it has got to be one of the crazies ensembles on TV. Unfortunately, after that short Christmas ep, it looks like we might not get more new eps for like a year.

I think it's fucking awesome. I like how they mixed Johnny Quest's Ace into the show by having him die off, haha. It's a really clever show. I hope to see more of it.

It's pretty neat, I hope they pick it up for another season.

Venture Brothers is friggin' awesome... Sealab 2021 and ATHF are hilarious but crazy, and although those shows are excellent, Venture Bros manages to keep every episode on track and doesn't resort to 'random character gets a gun and shoots another character' jokes.

Sealab has really gotten kinda crappy lately, and ATHF is ok but usually nowhere as awesome as Venture Brothers. I think it might actually be the best show on TV right now, not just best cartoon.
Here's to hoping that CN will see the light and renew it for another season.

Venture Bros rocks, this is coming from someone who gave up on most american cartoons. Timing, pacing all of them real good. Almost no slow parts because the creators were talented enough to cram the entire show with 30 minutes of funny, wheras Sealab, Spaceghost, Brak etc you've got to wait a painful while for the funny parts to pick up again. From what I hear CN is really pushing and watching the response to this. Don't think too much of the other cartoons but love Venture Bros.

Bah I don't like Venture Brothers at all. Boring *yawn* it's among my least favorite Adult Swim shows including Harvey Birdman and Mission Hill. Family Guy is my favorite, followed by Futurama, Sealab (though it has sucked latley), ATHF (sucked latley too)...

Sealab took a MAJOR quality dive once Captain Murphy's VA died, IMO.

I'm really enjoying what I'm seeing of the Venture Bros via the evil powers of the internet. It is somewhat treading a well worn path, but it walks down that path with a stylish swagger. Though I do wonder if a lot of stuff in it is things they never got past the censor from The Tick.
well then i'm gonna give it a win just to even things out

how did murphy die, btw? i never heard... which makes me think it might've been a death related to something socially unacceptable; drug overdose or something.
I don't remember exactly how he died but the bumps on Adult Swim announced it and everything so I doubt it was anything socially unacceptable. I just checked imdb and his death is listed as a result of cancer.

Couldn't agree with you more. It doesn't even make me chuckle anymore.
With all that Sealab talk out of the way I have to say that Venture Bros. is an amazing show. It pokes fun at stereotypes from many older cartoon genre and also some famous pop culture icons (Fantastic 4). I was hooked from the first time I watched the original pilot. CN would be stupid to not pick it up for another couple of seasons.

venture bros. is good but I don't think we will be seeing anymore of it, I mean they killed off the main chars at the end of the season. and in my opinion sealab sucked most of the time, there are only a few episodes that I like, and aquateens.... I loved aquateens but now they are just using the same jokes over and over, and shake dying all the time it is starting to feel like a southpark on hard drugs, and I tend to dissagree with the person that didn't like mission hill, that show rocks even though it is realy old and one of the first shows ever on adult swim

You don't actually think they're going to keep them dead, do you? It was obviously a joky end of season cliff hanger.

Their father is a super scientist. He'll just make clones or androids or something.

The show itself suggests that the boys were already clones...

The best episode is that one where the opening is nothing but quoting bowie.

Last few minutes of the last episode. Two of the Monarch's minions nailed them with an RPG.
The opening theme music for this toon gets me hard every time.

Bowie quotes for the win!
Tom: I'm feeling very still. And I think my spaceship knows which way to go. Tell my wife I love her, very much.
Dr. Venture (Sr): She knows!
So...do we have a second season or what? Here's the thing about that: you don't just get a call one day saying "go...make a second season." It's a process. Interest is expressed, research is done, and ultimately a budget has to be met. So, if we dot all our i's, cross all our t's and get a budget and schedule together, we will be making a second season of The Venture Bros.. If we don't...well, then more discussing has to be done, more number crunching, etc. Everyone wants it, it's just not official until it's official, hence no official announcement. All that is what's happening now, and as I mentioned last time, things are looking good.
Yea. At the end of the episode I got the feeling that Dr. Venture was thinking, "Not again..." as if this wasn't the first time that the boys died and he had to create clones of them. heh.

VB wins at satire, yo.

Earlier this week it was announced that Venture Brothers is officially renewed for another 13 episodes!
AND SEALAB IS CANCELLED!!! XD

Its Race. Not Ace. (I'm usually not so anal, but COME ON, its Race fucking Bannon)

Harry Goz, the voice of Captain Murphy, was fighing cancer WHILE voicing for Sealab, which has to be one of the most badass things ever. It eventually killed him, unfortunately.

Goz's son is now voicing the new captain on Sealab.
"Penguins have a gland above their eyes that converts seawater to freshwater"
Yes, Venture Bros. kicks ass.
