[someone mentioned that the /lit/ board was "the slowest board on 4chan. So I'm crossposting here in case anyone doesn't bother to go there.]

Who watches the watchmen?

A small hand reached up to clutch the larger one as the two navigated the early afternoon crowds down a wide, well looked-after avenue, planters between street and walkway showing the first signs of verdant life’s return, small trees lining the uncluttered city sidewalk.

Not a good sign when your first sentence is 45 words. I'll keep reading anyway until I get bored because I would want someone else to do the same to me some day.

Don't bother.

The second sentence is 90 words long. The third, 180. The story itself is about 25,000 words long. Beyond a certain point, it's all one sentence, like a lecture-turned-textbook by Buckminster Fuller himself.

Thanks for the note, in any case.
