This is the worst book ever to be written! The title has absolutely nothing to do with the book, and it had no plot line whatsoever.

Why do people (especially women) like it so much?
For the same reason people like Lord of the Flies, Animal Farm and others. Its a part of the typical high school curriculum. Pretty much everyone in America under 30 was forced to read it (or pretend to read it) so for many people it was one of the few books they ever read, so they namedrop it whenever the subject of their favorite book comes up.
