Speed Reading

Anyone have any tips on speed reading? When I try to speed read I get lost. It's like my brain can't keep up with my eyes. I know you aren't supposed to read the words out loud in your head, but does anyone have any more suggestions?

Make sure you're actually speed reating and not slow reading

Books are like fine wine. You must saver every word, take in it's majesty. Speed reading is bad for your health.

Not OP, but I'd like to learn for school shit. I'm already a pretty fast reader (naturally), but I'd like to get better at it and still be able to retain what I read.

It's to do with peripheral vision, reading down as well as across, gathering words into blocks and still comprehending.

Use your finger to guide your eyes across the page. Your eyes are lazy, so they need guidance. Practice it a bit.

It's weird. I grew up reading a lot and never had a 'voice' in my head, but at some point not so long ago I intentionally started reading aloud in my head and now I can't seem to get rid of it.

I love audiobooks and im trying to see if there is any place online to find free audiobook torrents, i used to use demonoid but it got shut down and the new one is bullshit and Kat isnt very dependable for audiobooks

I've read that very few make gains in comprehension and this is essentially pointless. Also that you'll never be able to comprehend as much speed reading as you would by taking your time. Why don't you just stop playing so many video games and shitposting, that'd free up enough time for reading.
