I saw a section of books in WalMart called "African American". Granted, nobody expects WalMart to be a treasure trove of literary goodies, but they just had regular books on one side and the other side was entirely dedicated to niggers.
What the fuck man.

Maybe Sam Walton has returned from the grave with literary segregation.
The book industry buys and sells by the pound these days so it doesn't surprise me. My guess is that publishers are offering stores really sweet terms on the vampire books. Ultimately, it all comes down to the book industry being extremely risk averse these days, even though it's killing them.

We do that in my library. I mean we mix them in but put a sticker on them, so it's more of a yellow badge deal, but every time I see one I'm like: can we do that? And is it necessary that GIRLZ FROM DA HOOD 4 be marked?

The books are being marketed to black people. You probably live in a place with a large black population.
