Depressing reads

Any recommendations for depressing stuff?

I've already read The Bell Jar.

Perdido Street Station by China Mieville.

Might not be your thing if you don't like fantasy, or it might if you're tired of the usual LotR rip-offs. Either way, few things are quite as soul crushingly depressing as the ending to that book.
