Hidden eBooks in .JPG files

A few years ago I visited 4chan and found that people were posting ebooks by way of .JPG files. Apparently it was a yearly thing honoring something or other. I can't recall what the date was when I visited but I'm pretty it happened in the /b/ board.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about? I've been visiting the boards habitually every so often but have never stumbled upon that awesome downpour of free literature since.

P.S. Anyone know the whereabouts of a freely available ebook of Henry Miller's Plexus and/or Nexus? I've found the first book of The Rosy Crucifixion trilogy, Sexus, but the other two remain incognito.

I know of what you are talking about. I have a couple on my hard drive. Don't really know any other places to get them though.

It happened every Thursday. It was known as "Liturthursday" on /b/. It doesn't happen any more because moot disabled RAR archives embedded in image uploads. Look around the other *chans though, I'm pretty sure 420chan has a good /book/ imageboard with RARs in the .jpgs.

Really? I see K&R 2nd edition and SICP embedded in loli pictures once every while on /g/.

There is a relatively complex workaround but for your average /b/tard that's too much complex work to do just to create and upload an embedded file. Most RAR archives embedded in jpgs aren't uploadable to 4chan. Go to another *chan's /lit/ board and request what you need.
