I'm new here

Alright /book/, just discovered this board.  Never knew 4chan had textboards before today.  Whatever.

What should I know about this board?  Not trying to troll, just don't know what goes on here.  How fast is the board?  What kinds of books does /book/ like or dislike?  I'm mostly sci-fi and fantasy.  What's /book/'s stance on fanfiction?

OP here.  Read starship troopers and liked it.  Not actively looking for new stuff though, at least not until classes are done.
