Thomas Hardy... The FUCK!

Name: Anonymous 2009-11-25 2:25

Just got done reading "Jude: The Obscure".  All I've got to say is, that I now know where the guy who made Evangelion got his ideas about how one person cannot fully understand how another thinks or rationalizes.  No matter how hard we try, making decisions based on how we think another will respond can, and will, fail in the long run.  Kind of depressing, but enjoyable to read.

Wiki says he wrote with the belief that things could always get better.  Kind of hard for life to get much lower, when you're already, and continuously, at the bottom.

Anyone else digging some Hardy? Or, have you read anything recently that fucked with your head?

Well, I've never heard about him before, but what you just said about him makes me want to read it.

It's really Victorian, if you enjoy that sort of book.
All-in-all a Very British novel.

I'm starting another one of his, called "Return of The Native" should prove to be interesting.

Don't change these.
