It Can't Happen Here by Sinclaire Lewis

So I started reading this the other day and I can't help but think that the main character is a bit of a Gary Stu. Its like the author is just spouting all of his political beliefs through Jessup and isn't bothering to develop the character outside of his political beliefs. Anyone agree?
