Dread Empire by Glen Cook

I'm reading Black Company and I'm nearly finished with the series so I was wondering if Cook's other books are as good. I've heard of Dread Empire so I was thinking about picking it up but it's been my experience that just cause you enjoy some books by an author doesn't mean you'll enjoy them all. As such I'm asking those who've read both series whether I who enjoyed BC a great deal will enjoy DE as much

I've not read the Dread Empire books, but I have read Dragon Never Sleeps, Passage at Arms, Sung in Blood, Swordbearer and Tower of Fear and I would recommend them to you unreservedly.

OP the first 3 three books of the Black Company are outstanding
As is the very first novel of the Garret series.

I've read the books beyond that, but I've found they are not as good.

Cook's latest series, Instrumentality of the Night is also a page turner if you can deal with the immense web of characters.
