Heya, looking to go to the book store later to get something high fantasyish. I've already read every thing Tolkien has to offer and haven't ever really looked at anything outside of his works. So yeah, any recommendations?

If you're looking for a non-serious approach of the genre, try the discworld series.

Dennis L. McKiernan's Iron tower series and it's sequels.
It's very much inspired by Tolkien. Gets extra points for turning the Hobbit equivalent into badasses

OP here, isn't that more of a science fiction book? Besides a few movies I've never really been into the whole space genre.

Had to order The Colour of Magic because my local book store sucks. I'll take a look into the Iron Tower series, thanks for the suggestions.

Dune is all mystical, no science. Nothing happens in space.

I'm not really sure what that has to do with a high-fantasy book recommendation. If you can so kindly as to fuck off and stop spamming this board, that would be nice.

The Amber books are good. They're by Roger Zelazny.

I second the Dune recommendation.

Alright, I bought Dune today. The quote "I know nothing comparable to it except Lord of the Rings" on the back makes me hopeful.

I love Zelaney's works. Have you seen the complete collections they've been coming out with?

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King.  I loved those more than the LOTR trilogy

I'm not >>13, but I've seen them and they look very nice. I'd buy them within the hour if I had the spare cash for it.

The Runelords by David Farland

The magic system is really unique, like, really unique, the characters are really likeable (especially the 2 main female characters)and Farland makes you hate the antagonist superbly

I love the first half of the series, haven;t read the 2nd half yet, but i will soon

Don't change these.
