Well book, this is what I am looking for. The best example of this category that I can think of in Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky.

It's a pretty thought provoking book, and I'm looking for more stuff in a similar vein, though about different topics, of course.

Note: I'm not looking for conspiracy theory shit, I want something that's at least well researched and footnoted and so on.

The Sorrows of Empire by Chalmers Johnson. This one is especially recommended for uppity Euros who like to blame the USA for everything.

"Panzram: A Journal of Murder"

"Thinking in Pictures" by Temple Grandin

Two books on completely different topics. One is a 20,000 word confession of a serial killer and recidivist butthole, the other is written by an autistic butthole with an eidetic visual memory. They are extreme examples of minds who actually managed to write down their experiences. Very much worth reading.

Is there a sadder thing that a non-fiction book that also isn't a scientific paper? THese books and their awful atuhors are fucking pathetic.
