So I'm about half way into this book and seriously? Is this it? All that praise and those awards? I can't count the number of top science fiction novels lists with this book at least in the top five that I've seen. Written in 1985, not even that old. Based on all I've heard about Ender's game I was planning on reading at least a majority of the series. I'll probably finish this one, but should I even bother with the other books at this point? Does Card's writing get any better at all?

It's basically a book you read when you are 10 and you still like for some reason after you grow up. Those awards it won aren't really worth anything. The following book in the series is supposed to be very different (I haven't read it), but if you really hate Card's writing so much, I see no reason to continue. Basically, what I'm trying to say is, the science fiction community is crap.

I think it won awards based on the heavy influence of child psychology (which I think is bullshit).

It's a children's book, silly. I read it when I was 11

I liked Ender's Game. Liked, not loved. It's seriously overrated.

If you're halfway through, you might as well finish it. It has a pretty twisted ending.
