Let the Right One In

Quite possibly the only good vampire book written in the last 10+ years.  The stories it tells are so real, so moving, with none of the melo-dramatic, over-sexualized bullshit you see and hear about in so much of vampire literature these days.  I can't get it off my mind, and I don't want to.

Has anyone else read the book?  If so, what'd you think of it?  If not, go out and buy it, read it, and then tell me what you think.

Not really.  I heard about the film, and decided to read the book first because it seemed pretty interesting.  When I finished the book, I watched the movie.  I just hope the English remake doesn't suck.

The overall story between the two main characters is pretty close, but like with any movie, they had to leave a lot out because there simply wasn't time to fit it in.  The book's author wrote the screenplay and decided to focus on the love story between the main characters (don't worry, it's not retarded like Twilight).  Other elements of the book are still included, but toned down.  Definitely worth watching, though I'd recommend reading the book first.
