God damnit they are taking forever to release these books.

Maybe they'll die like Robert Jordan and have to have someone else finish writing them for 'em

Is Veil: the secret wars of the CIA 1981-1987 by Bob Woodward scanned online?
the only library copy I could find is 1) a month overdue 2) at a library not part of the regular state network so I can neither order it or use my card there, and to get a card requires absurd levels of I.D. I do not have

You could try redirecting your rage to reading books by other authors, perchance.

What I am pissed about is I keep hearing they were coming out at the end of august and September and now its who knows when.

That's understandable. My advice is to disregard every GRRM release date unless it's made after he has turned in his manuscript. It's worked for me for over half a decade.

P.S. At least Rothfuss has turned in his first draft.

Honestly, I'd rather GRRM take all the time he needs if it'll allow him to maintain the standard of the other books. It seems like a lot of people who bitch about this have no idea what the creative process usually entails. Deadlines always hamper creativity.

Then again, I only just recently read the series and I haven't been waiting for however long like everyone else.

Yea see I have been reading sense it first came out so the first time I didn't mind waiting 5 years for a feast of crows but what keeps ticking me off is the fact that people keep saying o its going to come out in so and so date.

George has missed n deadlines already, so any release date is pure guesswork by now. The man will inevitably blog an entry in big fat letters when he turns in his manuscript, and if he hasn't yet, shit on the dates.

That only works if the author is, say, 30 years old. GRRM is 60 already and has taken 5 years for the 4th book, and I'm predicting the 5th will beat that yet.
If he croaks before finishing the series and some third rate hack finishes it just to rake in the last of the dough you can fuck right off with your creative process.

Anyway.. I don't really follow GRRM release dates any more. Got that shit pre-ordered and buried in the deepest recesses of my consciousness - if it does arrive somewhen unexpectedly at my doorstep it'll be a pleasant surprise, but that's about it.

George RR Martin is an obese slob who is secretly a pedophile.

I suppose in that case my creative process and I would kindly leave. I'd be pissed the fuck off if he died before finishing the series, too. Far too many good authors like to do that.

Time for us to start looking into Futurama heads-in-jars?
