I saw a thread on 4chan who reminded me of something actually.
Someone in that thread suggested a /lit/ image board on 4chan.
He suggested that it would be /lit/erature in general and not just books so that one could freely discuss stories in general and what makes them good or bad and that it even could be a board were one could discuss how to write stories and so on.
And of course a place for the good old fashioned books.
But wouldn't an image board be nice?

It would devolve into a place where people just post jpgs with ebooks in them.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I'm sure people would discuss those books as well.

I would actually like such a board.
It is not like I don't like the text board or anything but it would be a nice addition.
There is both the text board /music/ and the image board /mu/ and you don't really need images at all if the topic is music. The only images relevant would be the cover of albums and pictures of artists.
As for myself, I have tons art made for my favorite books. There is actually lots of fan-art made for books and "fan" art doesn't mean that it is bad. There are lots of well known artists who make art for their favorite literature.

420chan and 7chan have good, albeit slow /lit/ image boards. There's some good discussion that goes on there.

This again?

Have a /lit/ image board would be great as long as /book/ remained.
Being a text board means very little activity. While this helps filter out the less sinscere literature fans, it never hurts to add some activity here and there, and if /book/ remains, there's nothing to lose.

An image board would be good, the one on 420chan gets good discussion but it's slow. If there were a 4chan image board for literature, it'd probably move faster, but still with decent discussion.

If the occasional book threads that pop up on /co/ are anything to go by, a /book/ image board would be very popular.
If you were there in first year of /x/ then you would know it has really gone downhill. I would attribute this to all of the attacks on /b/. When /b/ goes down /x/ becomes the default /b/ for some reason.

The reason they go there is because it's the least moderated board.

/a/'s had some good /lit/ threads and so has /a/

I'm with everyone who says that as long as this board remains then an image board would be great too.

Inevitably though this would make more traffic filter down to here. It wouldn't be long before this place is as bad as lounge and vip.

I made a few of those threads. They were mostly terrible just like this board, iirc

I've seen a few decent literature threads on the imageboards and I myself have ranted about how stupid having an imageboard for origami and cosplay but not for literature is.

Of course it's because origami and cosplay are visual media unlike books, which are just written words, so all we get for them is a text board. Unfortunate because everybody either ignores the text boards or doesn't know they exist, but what are you gonna do?

Though I guess following that logic it's kind of dumb that there's a music board
