I'm three chapters into it.

Shit it's scary.

soma, man.  feels good.

It sucks when people don't realize how scary our society is compared to the book.

I never finished reading Brave New World. It started out interesting. I liked the concept of the utopian world but the writing was really boring especially after went on vacation. I guess Huxley is a communist or something.

OP here. 100 pages to finish it.
They just returned from the vacation.

So, so far, Huxley showed a futuristic "utopia" vs the good old days.

Can't wait to see what the last 100 pages are about. Probably Bernard's revolt.

It gets a lot better after the vacation.

What I love about this novel is how utopian a dystopia it is. It's seductive, and rules through persuasion and bliss where 1984's future is ruled through fear and force.

I dunno, like the brave new world universe.
Doesn't seem a horrible future at all.

The ending was a little shitty. But it ended with the character I didn't like dying, so it's all good.

OP here.

Finished it two days go. Not even half as good as 1984 or Fahrenheit 451 but still a pretty decent read, especially the first half of it.

Yeah the book really sucks in so many ways. It's just famous because it was a pretty radical idea at the time.

Don't change these.
