Darkness at Noon

Sup' books, have any of you read Darkness at Noon by Arthur Koestler? I have and I think it's the bomb. Everybody likes to give 1984 hand-jobs, but I think this is by far the best book about totalitarianism. The part where the jailer explained the logic behind the purges gave me the creeps because it really did make sense.

Also, the bit about solitary confinement prisoners tapping messages through the walls really makes me think of 4chan and other message bards.

Best quote:

The ultimate truth is penultimately always a falsehood. He who will be proved right in the end appears to be wrong and harmful before it.
But who will be proved right? It will only be known later. Meanwhile he is bound to act on credit and to sell his soul to the devil, in the hope of history’s absolution.

Don't change these.
