Should Books be an image board?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-24 12:18

I was wondering if /book/ can become an image board.  Why should there be only text when expressing one's feelings about books? Pictures are necessary to visualize the stories.  If Music can be an imageboard when it doesn't really use visual resources then why can't Books be one?  If there were an image board for Books then we'll have more substantial and concrete discussions and have a steady stream of fresh and innovative thoughts.  Someone needs to beg moot to give us more attention.  He is adding a new board called "Advice/relationships" and reviving /n/.  Why do you need a shitty board like Advice and Relationship when you can have something more meaningful such as books?  In this age of ours, no seems to give a shit about books
anymore and looks towards more flashy means of expression in anime or videogames.  I don't want to waste my time pandering over useless things as in other boards.

Please share your thoughts and opinions /book/ lurkers.

I would be up for it. An imageboard /book/ might easily degenerate into a request/warez cesspit where everyone regurgitates their own shit over and over again, but I'd be willing to at least see what the added clientele would bring.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-24 13:09

I would see what it would be like for a few weeks as a trial.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-24 16:43

I WOULD LIEK IT JUST AS MUCH AS MY COLLECTION OF PICTURE BOOKS.
IT SOUNDS FUCKING AWESOME

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-24 18:50

Yes,

I'm up for it.

I would love it, for the biggest reason because it would actually have some popularity.

Then again, /book/ is probably the most tame, matured board on 4chan, image or text, so I don't know if I'd like that to end. I would rather have there be some initiative to ramp up text board activity, if only slightly.

The reason this board is so good is that most idiots can't find it.
Let's keep it that way

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-25 8:48

I think it would be awesome

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-25 8:55

I'm an idiot and I have found it. Wot now, FAGOT?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-25 9:33

>>9
What makes you think this board is good? Honestly, explain this to me.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-25 13:44

The fact is, Even is a Book image board would turn into shitty reaction image bullshit, /book/ would still be here.

Moot, f you are reading this, at least make it a trial board.

That's why I said "slightly".

It's not like there's much to troll in a literature board anyways.

Hello, I'm writing a prequel to my unfinished vampire novel, any ideas on how to write a lesbian sex scene?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-25 18:01

>>15
Ask your mom.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-26 0:14

a /lit/ image board would be fucking awesome.  book covers, rars, fanart, whatever.  it would definitely get a lot more traffic.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-26 3:26

>>15
Graphically.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-26 3:57

>>16
>>18
But I don't want to write it graphically, because my book is deeply philosophic. And I hate my mom, she's such a bitch, I swear I'll kill myself if she ever tells me to go to sleep when I'm playing my private vampire RP server on WoW.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 2:33

>>19
Express your book's philosophy through the bodies of your lesbian vampires. Obviously this requires it to be graphic.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 5:27

Moot should fuck off /hc/ and put in /lit/.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 12:01

Damn rights he should.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 12:56

>>21
This. /hc/ is nothing but a spam board.

WoW

You have time to read books?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 23:05

I don't care. 420chan has a book and literature image board that's fairly active so I mainly post there.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 23:31

/lit/ or /book/ need to be in 4chan. Nuke /hc/

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-27 23:44

I've E-mailed moot in request of a /lit/ imageboard, and I'm sure many others have as well.
420chan's /lit/ is extremely helpful and reasonably active.  If we can have imageboards for transportation, cooking, music, and countless types of porn, then why can't we have one for writing and literature?
True, few people frequent the textboard, which probably includes moot.
So I guess you could say this thread is moot.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 4:41

>>27
Hahaha, you think moot can read? Really?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 15:56

What should you think the rules should be for the new board?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 16:27

>>29
All books, all the time! And also probably quality graphic novels, just like /tg/ gets any video games that are good.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 17:21

already was one

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 18:29

>>30
There is already /co/ for that.

If you allow graphic novels, then eventually people will start posting manga.

And the board will be ruined

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 19:11

>>30
Comic books are for children retard

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 20:30

>>32
I said, “just like /tg/ gets any video games that are good.” Obviously anything too good for /co/ belongs in /lt/.

>>33
hurrrrr

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 23:06

>>34
the last thing a book board needs is you dumb nerds who think watchmen actually has any literary value

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-28 23:07

>>34
all video games are for children too btw

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 2:50

>>33
>>36
its a shame we have trolls in the textboards

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 3:51

>>35
The last thing a hypothetical book image board needs is dumb nerds who think “Watchmen” when somebody brings up graphic novels.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 12:15

>>38
if you're nerdy enough to think there are video games that are good, and that they would be posted about on /tg/

but of course I'm all open to discussion of comics like Persepolis, though since there is the occasional thread about them on /co/, I don't really see the point in discussing them on a hypothetical book board (which is for books)

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 12:18

of course it would be unavoidably nerdy being overrun with threads about fantasy and science fiction and palahniuk so whatever

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 12:52

>>39
are you implying all video games are bad?

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 17:57

>>39
if you're nerdy enough to think there are video games that are good...
I'll let that pass...

and that they would be posted about on /tg/
Do you not go to /tg/? They are.

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 18:02

I definetely second the trial board suggestion, I hope it won't turn to shit

Name: Anonymous 2009-06-29 18:47

>>42
I mean that good video games would be posted about in /tg/. I'm sure they post about things like Baldur's Gate and KotOR and System Shock and the first two Fallouts

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-02 4:00

I would love to be able to dl books to put on my kindle. image board? yes please.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-02 21:17

If this was an image board, more people would visit it to troll us.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-18 2:16

YES that would be great

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-19 14:20

I can safely browse this forum at work, because no troll is going to post porn like they do in every image board. I would like to keep that feature.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-19 19:48

>>48

I wanna lick dat donkey clit babiii!!!

A/s/L ???

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-19 20:05

There is a Literature board on Plus4chan, a fairly decent one at that.

Name: Anonymous 2009-07-19 21:10

420chan and 7chan pull off a pretty good troll free /lit/ imageboards. pretty consistently good discussions aswell.

4chan is just "baby troll's first image board" and attracts tons of retards.
